I thought about putting a countdown until school starts here, but then figured that that's just too damn depressing.

The drops of rain they fall all over
This awkward silence makes me crazy
The glow inside burns light upon her
I'll try to kiss you if you let me
(This can't be the end)

Tidal waves they rip right through me
Tears from eyes worn cold and sad
Pick me up now, I need you so bad

Down down down down
Down down down down
Down down down down
Down down down down
It gets me so
Down down down down
Down down down down
Down down down down
Down down down down
It gets me so

Your vows of silence fall all over
The look in your eyes makes me crazy
I feel the darkness break upon her
I'll take you over if you let me
(You did this)

Tidal waves they rip right through me
Tears from eyes worn cold and sad
Pick me up now, I need you so bad.

Down down down down
Down down down down
Down down down down
Down down down down
It gets me so

I'm back!

Hey here's a fun little fact for everybody: I have no internet at home!!  None.  At all.  (I'm at the library now, by the way) It finally broke so now maybe my parents will get something other than crappy at&t service.  But lets not get our hopes up.  No, because now they're saying that there's no reason we even need internet!  HOW can anyone even THINK that!?!?!?!?  It makes NO sense!!!  You can't do ANYTHING without internet!!

Oh and if thats not enough, theyre saying that we're not even discussing me driving until JANUARY!!! And I get my liscense in SEPTEMBER!!!  Thats completely unfair!!!!  ARGGH!

So I'm having loads of fun here at home.  Yup, never been better.

I actually miss Russia.  Stuff was so much better there.  The only parental figure we had there was Mr. White, who is THE COOLEST PERSON I've ever met.  No kidding.  And we had internet.  And 2 TVs with at least ten channels (we currently have one teeny tiny TV and three channels at home).  We could do whatever we wanted and no one cared (see above about supposed "parental figure").  Here life sucks.  And (surprise!) its mainly because of my parents!!

I want to go do stuff.  Call me, people.  And leave some messages.

This isn't me either!!

Ok this is guy one (who shall remain unnamed...)
Definitely! Someones gotta crush on you! It's Obvious that this guy likes you, so stop doubting it! If hes a little shy and hasnt said anything, maybe you should be the one to make the first move (If you feel the same way of course). If you dont feel the same way, and he has already told you that he likes you, tell him how you feel in the nicest way possible, after all he was brave enough to tell you.

And this is John...
Maybe! This guy may have a crush on you; its hard to tell though. One minute it really seems like he does and the next its a whole different story. If you have a crush on him, why dont you try talking to him and getting to know him betterif all goes well you two will form a friendship, and who knows where things could go from there!?! If you are already friends with the guy you should tell him how you feel, however before you do that you need to decide whats more important to you, a friendship with this guy or a relationship. Sometimes when you take a friendship to the next level things between you two are never the same again, but if you have one of those friendships that survive though anything then go for it!

I don't believe in quizzes anymore... I have lost all faith.  Although I hope that the first one is true because that would be pretty cool (especially since I'm seriously considering asking him out next year... hehehe no one knows who it is!!)

RUSSIA!!! (again again again)

Why do we have to take classes while we're on vacation??  It makes absolutely no sense.  This. guy. is. so. boring.  It would be much better if he would just give up and teach in Russian because then at least I would have an excuse not to listen.  Haha he just said "Dear audience, where are your badges? i want to be able to call you in person."  I love how english is such a hard language that no one can speak it unless they learn it really early on.  I think he was trying to tell us to put our name tags on, but that was really funny.

Argh. Sooo bored.  We are supposed to be setting up an internet site that is in Russian and English that is about Rostov.  Not Rostov and Richmond.  Just Rostov because their city is better (it actually is but still).

Oh man we're actually doing stuff.  I have to pay attention.  Damn.  An hour of absolutely nothing and then just blam! work.  I'll just have to write in here when I have a few minutes.  Like now because he is adjusting the projector.

I'm soooo excited about the next part of our trip!! We're going to the Black Sea for five days!!  We will be on the beach every single day so I will get really tan.  And Mr. White said we might get to going scuba diving!!  That would be amazingly awesome.  We are already getting to go snorkeling (as far as I know) and now scuba diving!! Amazing!

Not much else is going on really.  I think I'm going to try to pay attention now.  Or maybe just go to sleep.

OH!! I know!  I'll make a list of Russian words I know!  Here we go:

äà
íåò

ok thats all i remember right now.  Alot of the words I know by sound and just don't know how to write them. i promise I really have learned a lot.

it anyones interested heres another page with Rostov pictures: http://www.uran.net/docs/rostov/Tour.html

Ok now I'm done

RUSSIA!!! (again again)

Ok we are in this really really really boring computer class right now so I am writing in here when the teacher isn't watching.  He speaks English soooooo slowly.  I can type much faster than he can speak.  here i go:

now we will learn about internet search engen- egi- engines for example if you wnat to learn about Rostov region you must provide search engine with several letters... words.  You must put down logical apparations (what the hell?) these give you the oppurtunity to narrow the results.  you may specify a relation.  if you want to find documents with two words in a certain order you must use special brackets... AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

this is so boring!!!! he's still going on... and on... and on....

ok "we will try to do it now. unfortunately we have a light and it is not so clean (wtf?) first let us find a shortcut."

did i mention how incredibly bored i am??

anyway yesterday night we got off the train (we were on there for 26 hours!!!) and settled into our host family houses. I'm with a girl named Rita and she's really nice, but speaks almost no english.  I think its a really good thing though because I'm learning different ways to communicate. like french and a lot of charades.  and they have a super nice house.  its way nicer than my house and looks like it was decorated professionally.  So I'm having a lot of fun.  Just not in this class.  He's still talking about search engines.

öðùô ñêôÿí øýü åíçøòï øò ñíêøääøñ èóñôãûó åðó äóååóêû ûöøåñð èôñë ôòâ àùêåðþ

ok wow I didn't realize I had left the keyboard on cyrillic letters.  so that doesn't say anything in Russian it was me typing what I thought was english but it was accidentally cyrillic.

now he's telling us the history of rostov which we've heard three times by now.  he keeps saying "now listen my dear audience" which is really funny

I'm gonna do this thing that was in VA's journal.  should keep me occupied for awhile because it seems to be rather long by now.

This is actually a picture of the railroad station we arrived at yesterday.

This site is all pictures of Rostov (were we are): http://www.rnd.runnet.ru/region/oleg/oleg.html
You should check it out.

I was here at this church (st. Basils just in case you didn't know) the day before yesterday (Sunday) because our train stopped for all day in Moscow.  Its even more amazing in person.  We're going back at the end of the trip to go inside because there was a line when we were there Sunday.

Other cool things I have seen:

Whoa thats a big picture.  But its sooo cool.  By the way this is the Winter Palace in St. Petersburg (in case you didn't already know).  We never got to go inside but the outside is amazing.

This is Tsarskoye Selo, or Catherine's Palace.  We actually got to go inside this and it is absolutely stunning.  So cool.

This is also in St. Petersburg.  Its the Church of the Spilled Blood.  The inside is gorgeous.  All of the walls are entirely covered in detailed mosiacs.

Maybe I'll have time for more later (because there definetly is a ton more) but for now this will have to be it because we are going to ANOTHER class soon (this will be our third today).

RUSSIA!!! (again)

Well we're at the train station waiting for the train to Mockba (thats Moscow in Russian just so you know) and then to Rostov and there was an internet cafe so we came in and here I am.

This trip is sooooo much fun!!!! I love Russia.  And I have the greatest story too: yesterday we were still on the boat and we got off in a little town called... well I forget.  But the point is that they had a vodka museum!! And me Devon and Rosa convinced Mr. White (who is the coolest teacher ever!!) that this falls under the "supervised drinking" category.  So we got to sample vodka!!!  I had three half shots: one cranberry flavored, one honey, and one lime.  The cranberry was sooo good!!  It felt so illegal too (mainly because it was) but the greatest thing is that no one in Russia cares at all.  The bad part is that I have a really low tolerance for alcohol and all of these shots were 80 proof, which is a lot of alcohol.  So I was a little tipsy for about an hour and a half afterwards, and everyone was making fun of me for it.
Every night on our boat there was a dance and they would be selling beer and they don't card at all.  All the Russian students are age had a beer (I tasted someones- it was ok) but of course we're not allowed unless its supervised.  And EVERYONE smokes!!! It's insane.  There's this kid on our trip named Jenya and he's only like thirteen and he chain smokes like two packs a day!  The funniest thing is that the smoking age in Russia is sixteen, but the teachers and chaperones are out there lighting up with him and the rest of the students.  Seriously, at least 80% of the Russian students on the trip smoke (and there are 100 of them- not joking).

Well I've got to cut this short again.  I'm having fun though and miss you guys a lot.  I actually miss my friends more than my parents.  Kinda funny.  I hope you guys are having a good summer too!!!

RUSSIA!!!

Well I made it to Russia!!!  We found an internet cafe here in St. Petersburg so I could update this.  I only have twenty minutes though so I have to be quick.  I LOVE this city!!! I could definetly live here!  The White Nights especially are very very cool.  Last night we were out until three in the morning watching the bridge opening, and the darkest it got was like our 6:00.  Really prettty.

It's amazing how much stuff we're seeing too.  All the palaces and old churches and art.

OK I've got to cut this short, but I'll look forward to seeing all of you guys when I get back and will tell you more.  We leave St. Petersburg tom evening for the boat.  That will take 5 days then we'll be back in St. Petes for a day, then its down to Rostov on a TWO DAY train for a week and a half.  After that we are going to the Black Sea and finally Moscow for a couple of days apiece.

I miss you all!!!

farewell...

I can't write long because we can't get internet at our house so I'm at my Grandma's house now and my mom is nagging me to leave.  But this may be the last time I write in here until I get back.  I know its tragically sad and all, but most (aka "three") of you won't notice because you'll be gone too!  Or if you're not gone, caught up in amazingly wonderful summer plans (aka "Ben").  I called him last night to see if he could go to the Braves baseball game tonight with me and he had to "consult his calendar" for like ten minutes and then he was like "no, I'm sorry I have a prior engagement. see you later."  And then I said "maybe" and he laughed and hung up.  I was being serious!!! I really probably won't see him soon!  But does HE care???? NOOO!

New topic (kinda not really): I'm gonna miss everything so much.  I can already tell I'm going to get sooo homesick.  But, on the other hand, it's going to be a lot of fun.  (I don't care what you say Alina it isn't a boring country.  Or stupid.  But Romania, who'd want to go there???)  maybe there'll be an internet cafe where I can update this there. But I kinda doubt it.

OK I gotta go.  See you guys soon!!

damn

ohhhh... the cool side thing went away and I have no idea how to get it back.

i gave in... I'm doing the chem extra credit (well not right now obviously but I will start soon... maybe)

sami is really hot.  just noticed that today.  because he had his shirt off.  however, some OTHER people were lazy and DIDN'T run around and get all hot and sweaty so they had to take their shirt off.  That's a very general "some people" by the way.  No one specific like John Walk or anything.

But otherwise the picinic was very fun.  I can't believe I just saw a bunch of people for the last time until next year.  This year has gone by so fast (in retrospect at least).  Before we know it, we'll be graduating.  Kinda scary.  I don't wanna leave high school.  Well, we do still have a looong two years left.

Next year we're upperclassmen- actually underclasspeople to be politically correct.  Two more hours of school until I'm a junior!  Yay!

13 days later...

haha yeah I'm leaving for Russia in thirteen days and i just watched 28 days later yesterday.  It wasn't as good as I thought it would be, but it was ok.

I have to do a thousand math homeworks, plus actually study for the exam.  I also intended to do the chemistry extra credit, but that would require doing chemistry.  I really need the extra credit, but it would require breaking my solemn vow never ever to do any chemistry ever again.  Its quite a predicament.

So I'm gonna go now.  But at least I updated, even a little bit, unlike SOME people I know that haven't updated in THREE MONTHS!!

By the way, for my trip I'm supposed to take pictures of my house and school and cars and friends and different things.  So you guys should give me pictures of you.  And your school and house and car.  No really just pictures of you.  That would be fine.  Because if you don't bring me a picture than I'm going to take one when you're not expecting and it will look really bad.  So just give me a damn picture.  Because then you can pick one you look good in.
